What does the name "SPLICE" mean?

S.P.L.I.C.E.  ---each letter stands for the components of our holistic programs. for eg. S is Social and Spiritual P is Physical and  Psychological  C is Creative and so on.... In addition, the word "SPLICE " means "united," "connected" , and  "bringing it all together."....this is what we are all about at SPLICE Foundation.

We aim to expand awareness beyond the individual and to develop a sense of connectedness with the world... ( Lundberg, 1998)

What is the S.P.L.I.C.E Foundation?

We are an   independent   not-for-profit  organisation run  by volunteers  including  Psychologists, conservationists, Community Development  workers, welfare workers , University, TAFE  and school students,  Artists, & Social Change Researchers, business consultants and many others from all walks of life. We provide a variety of individual and group programs, with ecopsychology being the primary focus. We are involved in educating the community, conducting behaviour change programs, supporting sustainability of the environment and enhancing individuals' and the community's development and health.

At SPLICE we are Humanitarians and Social Change Agents, dedicated to making a difference and are passionate about assisting others to live a fulfilled and balanced life. This includes reconnecting with each other via psychology and the natural world. SPLICE is inclusive of community and  environment and promotes cultural diversity.

Ecopsychology and the SPLICE Foundation.

At SPLICE we endeavour to provide a new way of viewing the world  by focusing on living consciously using the contemporary  approach of  Ecopsychology . Ecopsychology , which has a focus on prevention and positivity, has been woven through the very essence of programs we have developed , including the "SPLICE of Life" program. We use the SPLICE model of  wellbeing to enhace the connection of individuals to the earth, the  local community and the global community. We offer hope as well as an understanding of some of the current  challenges we all face. We can all make a difference if we choose to begin to make the necessary changes and we can all assist others in times of need. The choices we make do matter.

What is Ecopsychology ?

Ecopsychology can simply be described as the connection bet ween the individual and the Earth. SPLICE not only encourages this connection, but educates the individual and  the community in understanding this process within a professional psychological framework. Ecopsychology also includes a human rights and social justice component. For more information on Ecopsychology, programs and services, how you can get involved, as well as where and how you can contact us, please click on the appropriate links!
